Az olajsokk első heteiben a piac elsősorban a "headline" inflációt és a geopolitikai prémiumot árazza. Ha azonban az energiaárak hónapokon át magasak maradnak, megváltozik a helyzet: a magasabb energia költségek fokozatosan megjelenhetnek az árképzésben, a vállalati marzsokban, a bérekben és végül a monetáris politikában is. Az olajpara ráadásul egy olyan kötvénypiacot talál, amelyre már eleve több strukturális, hozamot felhajtó erő nehezedik.
