A generatív mesterséges intelligencia piacán kirobbant nyílt vs. zárt architektúrás háború már régen nem csupán szoftverfejlesztési dogmákról szól. A kínai nyílt forráskódú/nyílt súlyú modellek jóval alacsonyabb költségszintje és térnyerése közvetlen fenyegetést jelent az amerikai tech-óriások adatközpont-beruházásainak megtérülésére, miközben a fejlesztői szféra már a nyílt és a zárt megközelítés közötti arany középutat, az „open weights”, azaz a nyílt súlyok koncepcióját kutatja.
