Ismét medúzák miatt kellett leállítani a legnagyobb francia atomerőmű, a gravelines-i létesítmény reaktorblokkjait: szerdán éjszaka több mint 200 tonna csalánozót észleltek, ezért a hat reaktorból kettőt óvintézkedésként leállítottak. Jelenleg az erőmű egyetlen reaktorblokkja sem működik rendeltetésszerűen, mivel a leállított kettő mellett további kettő csökkentett kapacitással üzemel a medúzák miatt, a maradék kettő pedig karbantartás alatt áll. Legutóbb augusztus 11-én okozott hasonló fennakadást a medúzák tömkelege, amelyek a vízszivattyúk szűrőberendezéseiben gyűltek össze. Az üzemeltető EDF megfigyelőrendszert telepített a probléma korai észlelésére és kezelésére.
