Az első hőhullám nem okozott jelentős többlethalálozást hazánkban

A június végi, rekordokat döntő magyarországi hőhullám – amely során Szécsényben 42,0 fokos új abszolút melegrekord született – nem okozott kimutatható többlethalálozást Magyarországon a KSH adatain alapuló statisztikai elemzés szerint. Ez különösen meglepő annak fényében, hogy Európa más részein súlyos volt a helyzet: az ECDC becslése szerint egyetlen hét alatt több mint 16 ezer többlethalálozás történhetett a kontinensen, a legsúlyosabban Németországot, Franciaországot és Belgiumot érintve. A szakértők szerint a különbség arra utal, hogy nem csupán a hőmérséklet nagysága számít, hanem a lakosság és az infrastruktúra alkalmazkodottsága is döntő szerepet játszik. A hőséghez köthető halálesetek létét ugyanakkor nem lehet kizárni, csak számuk nem volt elég nagy ahhoz, hogy statisztikailag megjelenjen.
