Az aszálynál is nagyobb veszély fenyegeti a magyar agráriumot

Az elmúlt években Magyarország mezőgazdasága látványosan megérezte az éghajlatváltozás hatásait, a korábban időszakosnak számító aszály mára szinte állandó kockázattá vált, amely a vízgazdálkodás új alapokra helyezése mellett a termésösszetétel átgondolását is szükségessé teszi. Ugyanakkor, ha évtizedes távlatban vizsgáljuk a szektort, akkor nemcsak az aktuális problémák ütköznek ki, de az is jól látszik, hogy adottságai alapján a magyar agrárium jóval nagyobb teljesítményre lenne hivatott, a nemzetgazdaság egyik húzóágazatává válhatna. Idén nyáron a KSH számlálóbiztosai közel ezer településen 66 ezer gazdaságot kerestek fel az Agrárium 2026 elnevezésű gazdaságszerkezeti összeírás keretében, amely pontos képet fog adni a szektor helyzetéről. Azt azonban már most látni, hogy a magyar mezőgazdaság elmúlt tíz évének leglátványosabb folyamata a birtokkoncentráció, amely termelékenységi szempontból jó irány lehet ahhoz, hogy a magyar gazdák fel tudják venni a versenyt európai társaikkal, sőt, egyes területeken már most szép eredmények láthatóak. A felzárkózást egyelőre nehezítik a klímaváltozás negatív hatásai, és ami talán még ennél is ijesztőbb: a magyar agrártársadalom drámaian magas átlagéletkora.
