Meglépi az EU: 50 százalékos védővámot vezetnek be az európai piacon

Július 1-jétől új acélipari védintézkedés lép életbe az Európai Unióban, amely évi 18,3 millió tonnában maximálja a vámmentesen behozható acéltermékek mennyiségét, a kvótát meghaladó importra pedig 50 százalékos vámot vet ki. Az Európai Bizottság szerint a lépés a globális túlkapacitás miatt fenyegető súlyos leépüléstől védi az európai acélipart, miközben a WTO szabályaival összeegyeztethető keretek között marad. A kvóta felét a szabadkereskedelmi megállapodással rendelkező partnereknek tartják fenn, több ország pedig már elfogadta a számára kijelölt mennyiséget, lemondva a megtorló intézkedésekről. A Portfolio kérdésére az Európai Bizottság tisztviselője tisztázta, miért nem számítanak drágulásra a lépéstől.
