Varga Mihály szavaira erősödött a forint
A forint a délelőtti gyengülést követően erősödésbe váltott, miután Varga Mihály jegybankelnök megszólalt az MNB kamatdöntése után. A Monetáris Tanács az előzetes várakozásoknak megfelelően 6,25 százalékon tartotta az alapkamatot. A keddi sajtótájékoztatón Varga Mihály arról is beszélt, hogy az ülésen egy háttéranyag is napirendre került az euró bevezetésének előszobájának tekintett ERM–II árfolyamrendszerhez való esetleges csatlakozás feltételeiről. Jelezte, hogy ezt a dokumentumot megosztják az új kormány illetékeseivel, a jegybank pedig kész együttműködni a folyamatban, ugyanakkor a döntés a kormány hatásköre. A forint erősödése ezt követően gyorsult fel.
