Újabb eszközzel próbálja megfékezni az elszálló üzemanyagárakat a szlovák kormány. Robert Fico bejelentése szerint október 1-jétől maximálják a benzinkutak kiskereskedelmi árrését, így a kereskedők literenként legfeljebb 10 centes árréssel értékesíthetik az üzemanyagot. A lépésre azért van szükség a kormány indoklása szerint, mert az utóbbi időszakban jelentősen megemelkedtek az energia- és üzemanyagárak. Miközben Csehország is hasonló megoldáson gondolkozik, Magyarországon egyelőre csak a dízelesek kapnak támogatást.
